Esc racers consumption

Hi,

I would like to build a dedicated tank for ESC races. I think that I need more than 1L of fuel but does someone know exactly the maximun consumption during one race ?

well, there's a wide range, depending on the engine. A class 5 engine for example doesn't need much fuel, whereas a fully tuned M1L or Falc engine is seriously thirsty. The only thing I can say for sure is that my engine (M1L, 54mm stroke, 34mm carb, custom exhaust pipe) needs about 3-4cm (height in the original tank) of fuel...

I don't know how much that is in litres, but I would guess about 1.5-2l

The faster ESC races are nearly 15 km total - with an estimated total consumption of 2l we would have an average consumption of 13.3 l/100km - seems a little bit low for me in race mode with a powerful (and not so well set up) engine...

When we expect 20 l/100km we would have a total consumption of 3l - this should do it...

I know that 3L will be ok but I want to build the tank the smallest as possible ....

indeed it not really a pb of weight ...

where I want to mount the tank I have not lot of place so I would like to know if this small volume would be enough ...

for endurance racing we usually use around 5 liters per hour. i'd say 2l max should be perfectly ok. i'm running a swedish smallframe-tank in mine, they hold about 2,5 liters or so, and i usually don't have a problem with 15min of racing.

a swedish tank is a smallframe tank which was fitted as standard to swedish smallframe vespas. apparently they had a weird weight limit which resulted in smaller capacity fuel tanks and, rare as i don't know what, aluminium mudguards and aluminium side covers. never seen any of the latter myself though. of the fuel tanks i have two, which makes me the single most important collector of odd skandinavian shit outside skandinavia, i guess.

da wär' ich zu blöd für. dafür hab' ich mir ja auch so'n kleinen gesucht.

wenn du so ein ding willst musst du mal jemand in schweden ein bißchen auf den sack gehen. das problem iss aber dass gerade in schweden so ein zwergentank noch mehr für'n arsch iss als er dass meinetwegen in münchen innenstadt ist. deshalb wurde der kram da früher direkt weg geschmissen und ist jetzt dementsprechend rar. ich glaube im tausch gegen einen standardtank wird das schwierig.

Wenn den Tank einer auf die Fähre schmuggelt, kann ichs im Hafen abholen.

das mit den ss sitzbänken stimmt auch. allerdings waren da einige schon recht aktiv oben im norden, und auch die liegen nicht mehr in jeder garage rum. zahnräder wusste ich nicht. abgefahrener scheiß.

Ich vermute mal, das Luccio eher dahin will, daß er das Verstärkungsrohr zwischen Sitzbank und Beinschild als Tank verwendet und jetzt versucht herauszufinden ob sein altes Dachrinnenrohr wohl OK wäre...
