ein paar auszuege von obigem, wobei ich beide seiten inkludiere: They'll either not notice or find they'll find it funny. I'd be very suprised if any of them would be offended. RobD - political correctness has nothing to do with it. Its about respect. Millions and millions of died during WW2 So just take a step backwards and think about it. What does putting this image on the design say about the LCGB? That we are proud of this? Also what part has Lincolnshires bombing history to do with Lambrettas? Personally I am extremely proud of the way our relatives fought to defend our Realm and eventually losing both Grandparents this way but i understand that this is the case for most, if not more, families all over Europe. For that reason i have never been a fan of glorifying war. Scootering and The Armed Forces has always had a strong connection due to its demographic links and i do not mean to offend anyone in either. But again i ask if we went abroad and saw such identifiable images of war would we be offended? But if you wanted to choose an iconic image of Lincolnshire I agree it doesn't leave you much....... Please do not take this personally, im just putting my point of view across, a fact i'm well aware i'm able to do because of the sacrifice of many before me. Over a year ago our European cousins were contacted and asked if they had any reservations concerning some of the aspects of our event. I'm not going into to detail here on what the details were as we would like to keep some surprises under our hats for the time being. The main point is that we were given unreserved support accross the board. In the interest of debate, It might be worth remembering that if it were not for the part the subject of the silhouette played in defence of this isle, and the personnel from all over Europe who flew them, we may not be enjoying the freedom to hold this event, something I think all Europeans (except the new goosesteppers) would agree on. I've always thought when it comes to scootering that we should keep politics out of it and i still maintain that, but the symbol is not political, it's historical, if we had held the event in Hampshire and used HMS Victory would we offend the French? Devon use the Golden Hind-offend the Spanish? Chelsea's ground the Scandanavians Seriously though we are trying to put on an event for all and will be welcoming hopefully more nations and national clubs than ever before. We cannot ignore history, but we can live with it and learn from it.
