Mai 2021 (bearbeitet) Hello, (I can read German, but writing German is a bit hard, hope it won't be a problem) I have a Vespa V50 crankcase (around '71 I guess) and want to install a vespa V50s gearbox in it. Only the Nebenwelle won't fit, is this correct? And can I change the crankcase that it will fit or is this not a good idea? Thanks in advance, Teus Bearbeitet 7. Motorhead Geschrieben 8. Mai 2021 Teilen Geschrieben 8. Mai 2021 (bearbeitet) yes, there are 2 different cases at this position - one is wider for the longer gear transmission ratio. what you are going to use is the longer one, are you sure this makes sense? i suggest to take the standard pk transmission (the whole, not only "nebenwelle"!) that usually fits also better to all kind of engines we use. standard case (the one from your pic where the "nebenwelle" is not fitting): right case for the "nebenwelle" you show in the picture: also a big disadvantage is, that you can not spindle that case to 54mm of stroke in future. if you do so, this would need some welding before, otherwise you end up like this: Bearbeitet 8. goon326 Geschrieben 8. Mai 2021 Autor Teilen Geschrieben 8. Mai 2021 Thanks for your elaborated answer! I also have the PK transmission (4 gears) and the standard V50 (3 gears) transmission. Only I have the selector for the 50s transmission and not the pk or are these the same? When I use the selector of the 50s I have a little difficulties in the neutral. Because the neutral of the 50s gearbox is somewhat wider. I wanted to have the 50s transmission to have low rpm in the fourth gear. My setup is a 70cc cilinder with a SHB 16.16 and standard exhaust. And I want to have a cruising speed around 60-65 km/h. I’m not planning to spindle the case to 54mm what is the advantage of that? So you would recommend using pk instead of 50s gearbox or maybe even the standard gearbox? Or is it both possible? With the 50s I have to alter the case or is that risky anyway?
