Hello!

I own '1960 Vespa VGLA1T (netherlands) and I am looking for the original paint in the blue metallic colours (VBA and VBB)

Piaggio vintage vespa site gave me these codes:

Vespa 150 VBA1T model:

"AZZURRO METALLIZZATO" - (Original Piaggio paint - code number 667) - It is to

be found on normal paint shop, produced by Max Meyer brand, with the paint code

number: 15067.

Vespa 150 VBB1T:

METALLIZZATO BLU CHIARO - (Original Piaggio paint - code number 890) - It is to

be found on normal paint shop, produced by Max Meyer brand, with the paint code

number: 1.2968.0890.

I phoned the distributor for MAx Meyer in Holland but they dón't know the codes..

Does ANYONE have experience with making/buying VBA/VBB blue?

I am also to order the exactly same blue (bought a VBA 1 week ago). Max Meyer in Germany informed me that I can order it from any shop that sells Max Meyer paints. All they need from you to order it from Meyer is :

2 layer basis lacquer MAXICAR, azzuro metalizato no. 15067, Piaggio 667.

According to Max Meyer the original Nitro laquer is no longer available. Therefore you have to use the 2-layer one.

The originally used primer coat is called:

nociola, MAXICAR, Piaggio 3000M and can also be ordered from your dealer from Max Meyer.

Maybe you can also help me. I am looking for a pic showing a VBA in exactly this blue. Up to now I could not find one in the web.

P.S. Yesterday we called the Piaggio Museum in Pontedera. They really try to help where they can. However, you should ask a fluent Italien speaker to call there - makes things so much easier :0)
