Fuel pumpe together with Mikuni 35?

Hello you all!

I am going to use a Mikuni 35 together with my MRB reed on my PX 210 engine, and would like to know about your experiences with fuel pump/not fuel pump in this setup. I have read that you often dont need the fuelpump when using a Mikuni, and that the pump might mess up the setup of the carb. Anyone who have something to say on this issue?

if your carb is mounted in the correct manner (check for mikuni maximum angles on the mikuni-webpage) you won't need a fuel pump.

By the way, you can download the Mikuni Tuning Manual from the FAQ of this Forum, look at the upper left corner of your screen, just above the yellow banner :-D

The use of the TMX30 ist more recommended! Anyway, a fuelpump is not nessesary, if the carb is mouted properly, meaning: no angles!

It's hard to adjust the TMX35 properly , both to low and high revs on PX-type machines, as discussed in this forum several times. Problems seem to be due to the fixed Needle-Jet...

Hello again to you both!

Thanks for your tip, I will read the manual and have also been reading a bit on this issue now on this site. If you see me at Holiday in Holland this summer, I made it :-D

I guess, you'll be on the run quite earlier :-D

Mikunis aren't as hard to set up, as it might seem to you right now! Most Problems are due to fuel-starvation, angled manifolds and carb, or even wrong size (too large). Together with the TMX35 another problem occures: the fixed needlejet sems to be not the right fit together with the orig. needle on PX-engines! Maybe it's the (also fixed) airjet, that's responsible for this disharmonies! To my knowledge, nobody could really solve this troubles till now...

The best way to learn more about your carb is: just try it out!
