I've baught a Vespa PX center floor at ScootRS.

That spare part is in stainless steel but covered by a chrom strip.

I would like to withdraw that chrom...How could I do ?

In fact, I wanna have the stainless style and not chrom one...

according to what I found on the net, you have the choice between blasting (sand or plastic) or you follow this path (from the performance-shop website. :

There are chrome strippers available for exactly this purpose. The problem is, no one will tell you what they are or how they work, since they just want to sell you a bottle of their chemical.

I've called a few plating shops, and the closest thing I got to a positive response was a maybe. (and this was from a shop with a good reputation too!)

One guy told me that aircraft stripper is an option, but you have to be really careful with it, because it could eat the plastic.

I'm starting to think that media blasting is a good option. I'll just have to run some test pieces first.

After reading your post, I imagine that the simplest way would be the "aircraft stripper...but where could I find such a product ?

For the polish, I've got many solutions...so no problem for that subject.
