  1. I am in the active process of finding a dyno run ! As for the exhaust flange (manifold ?), I enlarged it a lot, I think it remains something like 3mm all around but unfortunately I have no picture... Next time !
  2. Still no (
  3. I don't live where the race took place, but it seems it is always sunny and hot ! The race was very "unformal"; Practice in the morning and race by categories in the afternoon. We were too few, so in the end there was only two categories; Up to 177 (!) and over 177 (!). Each category had a first 15 minutes race, then we had another 15 minutes session with all scooter (we were 35 I think), and in the end another 15 minutes race per session. Most of us are just regular vespa-daily-user so it was very friendly with no crash *between* peoples. Some people manage to crash by themselves while attacking a lot Anyway, great fun
  4. Yes indeed... I cheked, you were at the chicane when I ran out of fuel... Anyway, you won (
  5. I'm not sure at all, I have the feeling it gives slightly better performance at high RPM and, for sure, more noise :) The other point is that it's not everyday that you can ride and make all the noise that you want ! Actually, it was more to impress my opponents with a loud Boooaoaaaaaaaaah when I was overtaking them ! I ran out of fuel in the last lap of the race while having a very large advantage on the 2nd... And the second was Luccio :grr: :grins:
  6. das ist nicht turquoise, das ist hellblau.
  7. Check this out... http://www.zadraengine.it/html/vespa.htm There is a strange soldering that will maybe brake easily...?! Is it already known ??
  8. KTy - Cheap SC
  9. http://ktylife.free.fr/vespa/KTy133/KTy134.xls (Was before exhaust enlarged to 70%, I didn't have the time to measure again). EDIT: As pointed out by Olli ETS, there is a mistake in my XLS file. The conrod length is 97mm not 93mm... It will reduce a little bit my timing (hopefully :) )
  10. Have a look here and there: http://www.legru.net/scootentole/Mormoiron-2005 http://www.legru.net/scootentole/album09 http://www.legru.net/scootentole/C-R-D We have less "racers" because it's totally forbiden :puke: to change anything normally... :wasntme:
  11. Ok, that's it, I don't speak german Here is a little update on my 50 special... Exhaust port 70% for GS piston http://ktylife.free.fr/vespa/KTy133/KTy134.Echap70%25.jpg Chamfreins http://ktylife.free.fr/vespa/KTy133/KTy134...hanfrein%e9.jpg Work on Grand-Sport piston 58mm http://ktylife.free.fr/vespa/KTy133/KTy134...Pr%e9par%e9.jpg Reminder :) http://ktylife.free.fr/vespa/KTy133/200603...%E9Frais%E9.jpg Mazzu 20/20 full-circle partially smoothed during admission phase http://ktylife.free.fr/vespa/KTy133/KTy134...ravaill%E91.jpg http://ktylife.free.fr/vespa/KTy133/KTy134...ravaill%E92.jpg Specs: Engine: Polini 133 machined in a lot of way Edited; 185°/130°/28° exhaust 70% Piston GS 58mm Malossi Head adapted to GS piston Squish 0.8mm Mazu 20/20 full circle ET3 stator + HP4 (PK50 stator + flywheel for this week-end !) 2.56 straight primary + Zirri short 4th GSF repair kit PK XL2 clutch, 4 disks 6 springs Reedvalve vForce3 (RD350/Banshee) KOSO 32 carb (142/40) Zirri silent exhaust (touching in left curves ) NGK RED sparkplug wire Chassis: Straight and reinforced rear spring SIP/Worb5 Dropbar from Bad Man Nico (French scooterist) Rear tyre Raceman 100/80-10 on normal rims with 3mm spacers *between* the two half rims... Front tyre Raceman 110/80-10 Yamaha Booster NG fork In action this week-end near Avignon, south of France ;) Calm... No power diagram yet... Strugling to find a place... Very funny to drive, wheelies in 2nd gear, powerful front brake, the front tyre is obviously a bit wide, but anyway... The seat is maybe a little bit high for racing, anyway, my driving skills need to improve first :) Even if I manage to get the second best time of the whole day, but it's because my scooter was over-prepared compared to most of the others... EDIT: Damn' IE !!! :veryangry:
  12. For this setup I use a DR/Olympia 4 disks kit with a reinforced spring... If the engine is not "highly tuned", one can use the original spring with the 4disks. The XL2 clutch is almost imposible to be used in a standard primavera primary transmission clutch basket without machining.
  13. Sorry... Are you talking about an original rim or the cosa rim ? And I have also a straigth spring from SIP/worb5, so there is clearance issue from this point. What about putting 10 x 1 or 1.5mm washers *between* the two half-rims ?? :plemplem:
  14. Sorry to ask again, but I cannot search the forum, I don't know why, I 've an error... How do you drive a 100/80-10 tyre ? Can you mount a cosa rim on a smallframe ? Is the "special 100" from SIP a good alternative ? I tried with the standard rim, it works, but the tyre is a bit too pinched... Thanks !!
  15. I hope they highly and extensively test it on very powerful engines before they start selling it...

Well, I really don't have the time to propose another circuit but I just checked that Ni-MH just don't like very very much overcharging ! At the latest you could charge the Ni-Mh at 1/30 of its capacity, that is a constant current of 4.5mA ! AND, Charging your 9V 140mAh accu at 50mA will *destroy* it very rapidly ! You should be careful as an accu can explode... I don't want to frighten you, I just want to make you aware of this risk... Comparitively, Ni-Cd can be recharged without too much damaged at a constant current of 1/20 of total capacity or even lower is better... For example, a 9V accu is usualy 140mAh, a constant current regulating 5-7mA at 9V would ensure a charge "ok" without damaging too much the accu. Even if you don't have too much time, just be carrefull ! If the accu becomes very hot, then run for your life And I'm not kidding :plemplem: I'm sure you'll find plenty of german/english website talking aabout charging Ni-Mh and Ni-Cd accu... Just have a quick look ;)

Just a quick thought... Are you sure it is safe to permanently recharge the 9V Ni-MH accu ?? A car/bike battery can handle this easily (charge at constant current) even if it could be better to stop charging at some points (see http://www.uoguelph.ca/~antoon/circ/lader.htm), but normally Ni-MH and other types of accu (Ni-Cd, Li-On,...etc) need very precise charge and overchange sensing... As your Accu costs a lot, you should double check this probable issue... My 2cts !
  18. What cylinder and what exhaust ? Isn't your idle jet a bit small ?? Does the 30's cutaway make a sensible difference ?? Cheers,
  19. :wasntme:
  20. Back on track First, as previously discussed, you'll find below 2 pictures of a CF262 (left) and AV264 (right) atomisers... http://ktylife.free.fr/vespa/AtomiseurCF262.2.jpg As one can see, well, maybe not, but I can tell you , except the needle hole, both atomisers are very very very similar, almost identical ! Anyway, it doesn't help us to understand the difference... As for my jetting, I'd like to ask again your opinion... Setting: Polini 177, cases matched, polini intake enlarged, rotative admission (enlarged 4+4), crank manually cut (15-20mm), PHBH28 and Leovince pipe ! I have the feeling that I have a very nice and smooth engine, with some regulation at full throttle (main jet too large for reliability). I just tried an AV264, engine was ok, except 25-50% throttle when it can "rararaaraaaaaa" a little bit So I switch back to CF262 ! I ended up with: Idle jet: 55 Mixture screw: (only) 1 turn Atomiser: CF262 (similar to AV262 ?!) Needle: X2 Needle Clip: Top position Main jet: 125 I have the feeling that it could also work with an AV264 with a larger needle (X3 ?), what should I do ?? Any comments on the rest of the config ? No worry with the idle jet / mixture screw setting ? KTy
  21. So, italians have done it again :) Here is a short 4th, working with original gear-tree, 48 teeths, with 2.18 final ratio (original=2.09, zirri=2.33) http://lnx.et3.it/phpBB-2.0.17/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=6926 80euros :wasntme: If the quality is fine, it's worth it :)

  24. :sabber: No way !!?? Where do you buy it ? Really for the complete kit ?? :uargh: :plemplem:
  25. Could be... But the engine was in very good shape before we changed the bearings, very little play and very little ware... Besides that, it idles fine, doesn't smoke too much... Nop, again, cylinder/piston were in very good condition, we just changed the rings. Of course it would have been better, at least, to hone the cylinder, I just gave quick turn of sand paper... Is the PX exhaust a good choice for the GTR ?
