  1. A friend of mine found this barrel for a 125/150 motor in a recent clear out and we can't think who made it as there are no markings on it.Can anyone ID it? Thanks.
  2. Thank you my friend, you've been a great help. Danke.
  3. Many thanks,do you happen to know the crank duration too? Thanks again.
  4. Does anyone have any information on the differance between the performance barrels/pistons and the standard items?I know there's a differance but the part numbers are the same.My friend has a SS 90 so that isn't a problem but neither of us has seen a SS 50/Sprinter item in the flesh so to speak. If anyone can help I would appreciate it. Thank you.
  5. I've just looked at the Polini 50 over on SIP and I can confirm that this is a standard barrel, the transfers are smaller and differantly shaped, there's no boost port in the bottom and also no scavenger ports in the barrel itself. Thanks for your help anyway gents.
  6. I think it's standard to be honest but I don't have another to hand to compare it against.I have the piston from it and another standard barrel (well, what's left of them anyway) so I'll put them against each other tomorrow while I take the pictures.
  7. I like the thinking. As you can see it has decades worth of rust and dirt over it so I can't see any markings on it at all.I shall give it a clean tomorrow and see if I can find anything.
  8. I recently found this barrel in amongst a load of spares I bought from my friend.I can't remember seeing one like it before. Does anyone know the reason for them and/or which model it's from? Thanks.
  9. My friend is looking for the sticker you have in your avatar and on the legshield. Could you tell me where to get it?Thank you.
  10. Does anyone know if they've beefed up the piston a la Grand Sport to stop the skirt from cracking?
  11. Dunno mate but this is worth another pic.
  12. *Edit* Just noticed Oz has been in. :grins:
  13. He treats all his pipes in this manner. The theory being that the ceramic heats up higher and more quickly allowing the gases to pass quicker.Kind of like a stainless steel system without all the inherant problems of one.
  14. *Quote from Oz on ET3.it* I used a T5 casing, (this is the 4th one), because it has the larger flywheel side bearing. It has a full circle P200, (57mm stroke), crankshaft with a Rotax conrod. Wiseco Yamaha YZ 250 piston. The AF Rayspeed TS1 cylinder has been modified with extra boost ports and a ceramic liner. The exhaust was made by PM Tuning and has been Ceramic coated inside and out. I could have fitted any type of cylinder, (motorcross, enduro), but I wanted to keep it 'scooter' if you know what I mean.
  15. Oz only did it,well, because he can.Git. :grins:
  16. No,not yet.It has just been completed so it hasn't been near a dyno yet. There's still fine tuning required before it does. I can ask Oz about the crank but he's usually unwilling to reveal details unless bribed. :wasntme:
  17. I thought this may have been of intrest to some.
  18. I'm not sure the capacity of these kits,my friends and I always referred to them as a 166 but I hear them being quote as a 162 elsewhere. However, that's beside the point.Does anyone know where to find a piston kit for one? Thank you in advance.
  19. A fair point. However, the terms of the business are fairly clear to me,if you're not happy then don't order. And stop shouting. :wasntme:
  20. The piston is 58mm. You could try here.
  21. Okay mate, this is nothing to do with carburation but......... ........what is the crank? You said it is cut but is this a modified standard item or have you used a a Mazzachelli?I'm not a huge expert but my friend Oz,he of Rotax 50 Special fame, tells me the duration is far too long on a Mazz or a standard modified to that spec. on a Polini. I don't want to complicate matters but as always with tuning everything has a knock on effect.
  22. Thanks for the info Alberto,do you know if this will be coming to Britain? I'm just getting a 404 KTy,can you cut and paste the link?
  23. I saw these the other day, does anyone know if they will fit the PX block and would it be worth it? I like the idea of the twin 'ring set up and I presume the port timing's will be aimed at making big torque. I also noticed there was a 16mm item that could work with a standard 'rod and a 18mm item that would require a Rotax or Ape 'rod obviously. Sorry if I'm being silly but I've never seen one other than the picture's supplied by SIP or seen the Ape motor's they're designed for up close so I don't know the detail differance's. :wasntme:
