  2. It's accepted in the UK and the USA Lambretta clubs that German sport tyres Schwalbe Raceman and Heidenau K61 are the best available sport tires for a Lambretta. I'm still running Michellin S1's on my TS1 but I'm almost ready for a tyre change. Which tyre is best and why? What are the differences between the two? Which has strongest sidewalls? What about subjective observations, i.e. the S1 on the back of my GP 230 can slip without warning when accelerting out of a turn or roundabout especially on a hot day. Danke schön! :)
  3. I'm only going by what was said on the Scooterotica forum but the prices aren't unreasonable, given that Charlie Edmonds will be doing the quality control: That's not far off what Ian Frankland was charging for a new engine with ported RB 250 with exhaust plus setting up on dyno and test run. We'll have to see if CamLam offers SuperMonza with ignition + exhaust + carb for €2000 (£1695). If that's the price then I may buy one. Somehow, though I think it will be more expensive.
  4. There is more choice in tuning parts and cylinder kits for Lambretta and that is a good thing. It also makes for a more difficult choice. Ian Frankland was / maybe is building new RB 250 engines for around £4,500 complete including engine, carb, exhaust, ignition, test run and jetted. Ian's new engine cases are stamped TAFFSPEED RB250 ### and numbered. They are built on a new GP200 engine with all uprated parts. It is meant to be an engine swop that you put in your bike and set your original engine on a shelf in your garage. It sounds like the CamLam / Charly Edmonds checked Super Monza for the UK market will be almost that price but only for the kit + carb + ignition + exhaust. For the money, I'd go with a full RB 250 engine. Hopefully I will test one in August.
  5. Ian Frankland (Taffspeed) built RB 250's at 34 bhp setup for touring. Have to see what the Super Monza can do.
  6. Here's a couple of pics of my other Lambretta, a 150dl street racer that I bought a few years back. It's rather crude, but it's pretty quick. I want to ship it over or I'll have to sell it in the states. Engine is a WCLW built TS1 Humiliator, now with Annihilator porting, TMX 35, JL4, R6 rear shock, dropbars, ScootRS front disc brake, Li 150 Italian gearbox, 16 x 47, MB lightweight crown wheel, currently 4 plate clutch with Barnett Yamaha springs. Also has a Diablo long range fuel tank.
  7. Now that's a great idea! I'd gladly leave the van parked in Germany and ride the GP on German roads and I can cut 1,000 km off of the ride!
  8. Thanks amazombi for the welcome and the language tips I studied German way back in high school but that would be even worse than the Google translation. Currently I'm trying to learn Polski but it's a difficult language. Hey Arne, I drop by the LCUSA forums now and again but most everyone there seems to pop up on every other forum anyhow Mostly I get dirty or confused looks from most of the population here or laughter from the younger generation, and I think it makes car drivers angry somehow, but the bikers I've met appreciate it. Maybe I should I re-pack the silencer. It is pretty loud for a DevTour. Thank you for the rally tip, sukram! I think I can do that one especially if I skip the race in Hungary. Is it alright to bring the scooter in the van as I don't want to ride too many miles on Polish roads (and with the Polish drivers!).
  9. Hallo Forum-Mitglieder! Ich bin Amerikaner Scooterist leben in Polen. Dies ist mein GP 200 (200dl mit MB RaceTour abgestimmt TS1 230.
