  1. Major (but simple) update to our reglement, will be effective in 3 weeks in Chateau-Gaillard: A second scooter as spare is allowed ! Penalty for changing the scooter is 50 laps The first scooter once retired cannot come back to the track In case both scooter are not from the same category, the "highest" category defines the category during registration By doing that, we ensure people will continue to race even though the first scooter cannot continue. As a reminder, there is no penalty for changing engine. Strategy will play a significant role !

  9. Scootentole presents the 9th Endurance Challenge Scootentole: The 10 hours of MagnyCours (Club track) !! Date for 2018 is October 6/7th ! Back again in Magny-Cours in 2018, but this time on a slightly bigger track for a new exciting edition of classic scooter Endurance race in France ! The race time duration will be 10h, the reglements is simple and very open; Strategy and reliability are the two keys of this new edition. The number of scooter to take part of this Endurance race is now extended to 50 ; Anyway, make sure you book a slot as soon as possible (deadline is 15th of September !!) The track configuration will be the most twisty one ! Pay attention that this is quite a long and fast track ! 2,6 km long and 10m of wide Rules, the main points: (IF ANY QUESTION, PLEASE ASK !!) Short summary: (Please read carefully the FULL reglement, see below) FIVE categories SP3 : small promotion: original engine casing, case intake (except Malossi 136cc), cast iron cylinder (except original Alu), no exhaust bridge, air-cooled, max 51mm stroke and not flow-optimized crankshaft, polini/Malossi/Giannelli/leovince snake and similar 80s tuning type exhaust, max 24mm carburetor, 3 or 4 gears, original tank, no fiber parts for the chassis/side panel.   12. Danke ! Very nice race, with perfect weather and only one red-flag... With 42 teams, this was really unexpected :) Started the race at 7AM and finally finished it under checkered-flag at 7PM, it was physically hard for me . 10 days before the race, Onkel Mike Garage team lost two drivers and was about to abandon. Fortunately, Super Mario managed to quickly propose two substitute drivers to Fritz: one being myself :) We met for the first time on Friday afternoon; Freshly new assembled scooter, and the three drivers, not knowing each others. Team's manager target was clear: Finish the race ! In the early morning (6 to 7) training session, we had to loosen a bit the fork, while we already knew the clutch would be a problem. Started in 8th position, I did the start and took off quite well. Not for long. On the second lap, after the round-about, I found myself rolling on the floor and the scooter sliding 25m away. Very hard suspension, cold tyres and not tightened enough handlebar were probably the reason for this fall, hopefully without further consequences. The race unrolled nicely, supermoto style Rafael proved to be the fastest of all 3, followed by automatic race driver Markus and myself. Overall we were quite homogeneous, constantly lapping in 1:04-1:06. Engine (reed-valve SP09, PWK35, standard ignition and Berta) was reliable without any problem except the clutch which was hard to operate and the flywheel fins that we had to change once. While the power band was too narrow and up in RPM, the absolute peak power was far from being ridiculous and we had no problem to compete in top speed. Great job Benjamin ! Chassis, even though a bit too hard in suspension for me, was well prepared and gave full confidence. Here I have to say congrats to Fritz ! After changing clutch cable, spark plug socket, brake pads, and stopping two more times for lose screws, we finish the race in the 14th position in the Proto Unlimited Class, me totally exhausted, ... but very happy Thanks again to Onkel Mike's Garage to offer me this racing opportunity and thanks to Mario for this great race event. Looking forward to next year, for the 10 years anniversary !
