Were the forks for a Vespa GS3 Type 162 painted in silver or the original body color?
  4. I am looking for any information on the Following style of crash bars. These are all from Holland, and are supposedly original to the period. Does anyone know Their history and who made them? Were They only sold in Holland or other countries as well? They are available for GS150s, GS160s and SS180s. Possibly MISA? I am looking for any information on the next style of the crash bar. They are available for GS150s, GS160s and SS180s. may MISA? Once again, I apologize for the Google German translation. Thank you in advance.
  5. What is the correct original finish for my Denfeld seat springs? They were painted over at one time on my scooter. Were they painted or zinc coated?
  6. Hello, I am trying to find out some paint details for my GS/3 Typ 212 restoration. I found the wiki, but it only covers the details for Typ 162. Restaurierungsdetails Wiki. I have tried searching, but my lack of German makes it difficult. I am specifically interested in the paint for the following pieces. I think they are painted in "aluminum silver", but I could be wrong. Thank you very much. Lenksäule ??? Vorderradschwinge ??? Schwingenabdeckung von ??? Felgen ???
  7. Thank you Lambrettaman. The terrible thing is I already bought something off of that guy.
  8. Does anyone sell on electrical terminal block for a GS3. The only ones I can find online are the covered version for the Italian VS5's. Hat jemand eine elektrische Anschlussblock zu verkaufen für eine GS3 . Die einzigen, die ich online finden sind die überdachte Version für den italienischen VS5 ist .
  9. Wow. That is very impressive work. I'm subscribed. I've always wanted a wideframe with a modern engine. I can't wait to see it finished.
  10. If you replace the core of the lock with a repro or one from another GS3 or T4 with a flap, you should be able to move the pins from the old core to the new core and use the same key. Iv done this before. You just need to make sure the pins are in the same order, and the key type is the same. See the link below. https://web.archive.org/web/20030202201114/http://www.vespa-gs3.com/restoration/lock_rekeying.htm
  11. I finally found a picture in this thread . The rectifier cover is definitely black. I still can not tell about the batter cover, there is too much corrosion. It looks like the inside of the cowl which sprayed in silver-gray, but some paint flaked away to expose the red primer.
  12. arggggg.. Sorry. I have a GS3. Argggg... I have a GS3. My apologies.
  13. I am looking for pictures of original paint inside the left side cowling (tool box). Was the battery tray black or body color? Was the rectifier cover black or body color? Finally, when was the horn/lights button black and when was it ivory. I've seen pictures of it in different colors even in the same year. UPDATE: I'm an idiot. I have a GS3. My apologies.
  14. Will do. It will be a long time. I work for Siemens Energy traveling around North America and South America for September - May. I am home for very few days. Bar Italia Classics already told me that it will be at least 18 months for restoration.
  15. Thank you for the picture. That is exactly what I needed. Is there a thread that has all these old pictures posted? I love them. The dudes look sharp in their suits. Very cool. I am lucky... I can actually have it both ways. I've decided to have my '59 Type 162 restored in the original silver. I have a gas tank that has original paint. The shop specializes in original restorations and they have painters that will hand tint the paint. This one will have 100% original parts, and will probably be mostly for shows and special occasions. For my '60 Type 212, that I am restoring personally, I will do in the Alabaster White. This scooter will be mostly original, just a little bit modernized. I will have Vespatronic on the motor, some upgraded shocks, etc.... (I will keep all original parts in case I ever want to change back). This will be the one that I ride around regularly. I want to thank everyone for their input. It helps to hear experienced people. When I try to talk Augsburg Vespa's with people in the United States, they don't quite understand.
  16. Awesome... mine is fixed with rivets. I have one on the front and the back. I will definitely keep it with the restoration.
  17. Wow... looks so much alike. Mine was painted blue. Then Red over. The blue looks hand painted. I have no idea what original color is. Going to paint original silver.
  18. That's awesome. What do you know about the badge? Whor is Robert Litti?

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I was in the Air Force living in Germany. I think that the GS3 was the most beautiful scooter ever made, and I like that it has German engineering. I also want a GS4 Mk 1. There is one for sale here in the United States, but it doesn't have the swan tail light or the Denfeld seat and it is painted in Red. I am still considering buying it, but only if I could get the correct pieces.
