Hi,
currently building my Explorer-engine, but I’ve run into a problem with the flywheel.
It’s a ele-start flywheel that has been machined down, but apperantly not enough as you can see in the picture.
My question is if I can remove some material from the cylinder without breaking through??

I've already rebuilt the engine with a new gearbox, and the noise in 4th is now gone.
Just have to mount it in the frame and test it on the road. -
Hi,
Newly built Polini130-engine with full circle crank, Egig clutch, PHBH24 on reed and original gearbox.
Engine runs very very good in 1st and 2nd gear, but jumps in and out of gear when in 3rd. And very bad noise in 4th.
-big «clunks» like someone is hitting the casings with a hammer.
The same noise in 4th without engine running, also with clutch engaged.

Mines a Polini XL2.
Guess it is Dremel-time then to rectify... -
Hi,
Just fitted the complete Egig one-finger-clutch in my Polini130-engine with Polini XL2 cover....
But the clutch touches the clutch cover (similar as it would on a normal V-cover), So I had to fit a 1mm spacer to make it spin free...
So apperantly something wrong.
-any tips?

Hi all,
First, sorry for english, aber mein deutch sind sehr slecht....
I've got a M244 (60mm quatt crank, 24/63 on original gearbox, keihin28 standard ignition and SB sport3) for the moment in my SS180
Going to build a M265 on VR-one with MRP cnc reed with Vape static. (hope it is ok to ask even if not 260 but 265...)
Either the SB box or a Polini box (going to try both)
Will a PHBH30 be sufficient? (trying to get great milage)A lot of my touring is with my PAV41 behind the scooter, so I'm not looking for peak horsepower, but tourqe for steep Norwegian hills and mountains...

PX200 could also be Rosso Mic 861
Yes, that is absolutely an option as well!
Do you know how the Vespa color codes translate into "modern" color codes?

Depends on the year.
In the early nineties, Vespa Germany offered
Weinrot Metallic 126
Looks pretty close to me
Thanks!
Sorry, forgot to mention; it is a 1994 PX200. -
Hi,
Can someone please advise me on this color?
Need the code to be able to order touch up paint...

Looks like 251 blu cobalto but i'm not sure due to the picture quality. It could also be "midnight blue" (don't know the code).
Thanks madmax!
At least I/we've narrowed down to two tones...
I'll see what I can find out. -

I think it comes from the Polini Box. I had this, too. With an other Polini Box the vibrations were gone.
Ok, thanks!
Very usefull information!
-I have been thinking of that myself, but wasn't sure...
I might try with a SIP Road to check.... -
Are the vibrations gone if you come in higher revs?
Haven’t tried to push it to far above 7k, as it vinrates so much.

Put in a bigger HD
Carb is overworked?
Tried 135, and same vibrations...

Hi!
I have a Polini221 engine that rides very smooth. -never had so little vibrations in a Vespa engine...
But that is only as long I don't push it over 7000rpm...-then it starts to vibrate heavily...
I'm suspecting that the pick-up isn't all good, and can't deliver proper sparks above 7k rpm.-does that makes sence?
Setup;
PX200 casing matched to sylinder
60mm crank (unknown brand, bought here on GSF)
SI24/24 autolube with nd3,33 and hd128
Standard ignition on 19"
Polini box exhaust.

This could also be symptons for a to lean jetting. 48/160 is way to lean, try a 60/160 without a hole over the low jet
Ok, I’ll do!
But CHT is around 90, so might not be lean?
Anyway, I’ll try

Airfilter?
If yes with bores over the main Jet?
or. Venturi?
Original airfilter with drilled holes above main jet and low jet.
PS! I've now running 128Hd and 3,33 on slow jet, but still stutters on low throttle.... -
Hi!
Newly built my Polini221 engine...
Setup;
Polini221
60mm crank
Polini box pipe
Ignition 19’
SI24/24 with nd48/160 and hd135
My problem is that it still four-strokes/stutters on low rev and a bit in the lower midle..
-even with a 3,33 slow jet?!?
The ignition is spot on 19 degrees.
Anyone who can help me solve this?

@dragonball had the same question - and added the information by SIP:
The white/black cable (I suppose of the speedo) should be connected to ground of the switch.
The black one is without use.
Brilliant!!
Thanks alot!!

Hi,
Sorry for asking for something that has probably been asked numerous times before....
Can someone please guide me to someone who is building/modifying PK-forks for SS180 that actually fit the fender and rideheight?
Thanks!
