Hi everyone,
I'm playing with my first Polini carb, courtesy of SCK, and cannot find much info on other websites so your details are very welcome. Today is my first day out with a new motor, which is a completely new arrangement for me, meaning that I'm trying to jet it in form first principles; marked throttle housing, choke tests, trial and error (open ear, etc.).
The carb is a 34mm and the motor is a Mugello 293cc, initially running on a JL3 Curly but this may change as the stinger is quite small for the cc (concern about heat build-up but will monitor). The port durations are set roughly to SIL IV spec.
The N68E standard needle was rich, I've tried the JJH (T2) and that was rich on progression to/through mid-range so will now try the JJK. Pilot is currently at 45 (seems OK for now) and main at 135 felt lean once through mid-range so will stick a 145 in it and see how that feels.... fingers crossed.
Anyway, nice to read what others are running and I'll keep an eye on the forum.
Cheers all.
Adam
