Electrics question HELP
Hi, Im restoring a 1960 VGLA (with same rearlight and speedo ass VBA/VBB) and have an electrics question: I compared my electric wiring with some diagrams from www.scooterhelp.com and came to the conclusion that my scoot has a combination of a VBA1t with battery and a VGLA/B without battery diagram. My scoot doesn't have a batterie at the moment but I think it was taken out because I do have a rectifier in it and the wires that are attached to it go nowhere. I have a couple of questions 1) Is the statorplate in a scoot with battery the same as a scoot withoiut battery?in other words can I restore it two ways with my statorplate? 2) Can the same handlebar switches be used in a scoot with and without battery? (my handlebar switch has 9 nr on it whereas the no batttery scoots hav less nr's on the handlebar switch in the diagrams) 3) What is better to restore it like; with or without battery; that's a big difference for me because I have to buy a new horn, new brakeswitches etc. Danke!

Speedo rebuild HELP needed!
Hi, Im restoring my 1960 VBB and took the speedo apart because i wanted to reset the milelage counter to 0. after taking the glas, the faceplate and the plate with the red arrow off, the inside mechanism was exposed. When I did this the little spring that keeps the handle that operates the red wheel sprang way. (My english is bad sorry!) anyway, I cannot figure out how the original configuration is; i can't get it back into place! I also am curious what the original configuration of the small white cogs is; I can't seem to figure out what their setting is either. Does anybody have some pictures of the inside of the speedo so i can figure out how to put things into place? Thanks!!

Primary drive and shaft problem..
Thanks! I was guessing that would be the case; it's kinda weird though because the manuals say you can drive it out from that direction and I think they're talking about the same type engines..It's like that quite often though :) cheers

Primary drive and shaft problem..
I'm restoring my 1960 VGLB and have the following problem.. I'm trying to get the inlay-shaft out of the primary drive but i can't seem to get it work. I removed the nut on the outside of the casing and drove the shaft through a bit so that the christmas tree with the shaft still inside comes out of the casing and the needle bearings fall out. I'ts out for about 4 cm but now I can't get it out further. I tried heating the christmas tree and tapping the shaft out form the bearing side with a hammer and a drift but it's won't work. The manuals (Haynes, DarneL&Golfen) say that the shaft is easy to just push through and that you should be carefull that it won't "fall out"..I wish it was that easy :) Am I doing something wrong here? thanks already..

Help needed; cylinder and piston..
Im restoring my 1960 VGLA1t I just took of the cylinder and want to clean it and the piston. I'm going to clean the engine casings and all the parts with a strong degreaser; can i treat the cylinder etc. with the same.? I hear people also use a dremel tool to clean it and the ports; wich accessory is needed for that and how do you clean exactly? My cylinder is also rusted at the outside; can you get rid of that; do you need to have it blasted or is it sufficient to just spray it with heat-resistant black paint? Finally, how do you know when it is time for a rebore? My scooter ran before I took it apart but Im very unexperienced and do not know how the performance was... Can anybody give me some good tips on how to proceed? Thanks !

Restoration question: statorplate
Dus de koperen bedrading kan gewoon met wasbenzine schoongemaakt worden? sommige mensen adviseren de condensator en de punten sowieso te vervangen; maar als hij goed liep zou jij dat niet doen? dank!

Okay..but clean what exactly? (met wasbenzine; ben ook nederlands :) ) the points, and the coils as well?
