  1. Hey all

My German is terrible so apologies for having to write in English. I have a question on importing an oldie into Germany. Its a spanish 150 S that you may recognise from being Zidane's scooter from the adidas Road to Lisbon commercial back in the day. Its currently in Holland and has dutch licenseplate & papers. The issue is that a German colleague of mine wants to buy it but I'm unsure of the TUV restrictions of the import. In holland we dont have TUV or anything like that. I replaced the shitty piston ported engine with a nice p200 Malossi and SIP road. From the outside it doesnt looked tuned but I'm keen to get some TUV or import advice. Will it be a huge pain to get it registered/ tuv'ed with the bigger engine?

    Very many thanks

    John

  2. Just got a message back from Hans

""Hi John! The end time of the inspection is not fixed. I think it will be about 7pm. If you are not able to come to the inspection on saturday there will surely be the opportunity to get checked on sunday morning. In this case please come to the papers office on sunday. We will be there from 7am on and the technical inspector will surely be there between 7 and 8am. Best wishes Hans Cramer"

So all good as I'll be there before 7pm so all good.

    Thx all.

    John

    John

    Amsterdam & Nurnberg.

Bump - und fur "suche"- suche gern een SX Lenker. Es tut mir leidt dass mein Deutsch so schlecht ist. Aber ich kann ihn verstehen so kein Problem wenn sie mir eMail auf Deutsch schickt.

  4. hey Stefan etc

I already asked the same question on the ESC topic so please forgive me for repeating myself but we're thinking of having our next dutch scooter race in Rotterdam (replacing the lelystad demo race) on 24-25 july 2010 - we obviously dont want to clash with ESC or other classic scooter racing so hoping that this date is still available. Would be great to know if this is already booked by someone.

    Thx

  6. Ich dachte den hat 180 Amsterdam & TBWA?

nope - 180 dont work on this anymore. TBWA still do the localisation but most of the work is done by Sid Lee out of Canada. In the big scheme of things this isn't really such a big campaign so dont worry about

Also remember adidas isn't retro. adidas has always been there...

  7. sorry my german is pretty bad so dont understand it all but if you check adidas's football ads all the way back since 2002 then you'll pretty much see vespa's and/or lambrettas and even Heinkels in nearly every commercial we've done - remember road to lisbon with Beckham, Kahn etc.

Adidas - by scooterists for scooterists!

    Yes I work there... :-D

  8. hey!

Many people are asking about the Friday night so we now have a location - no big party but should have a fair few coming for a few informal drinks. As usual its in the red light district - bar is highly recommended by Edo:

    de Zeevaart

    Oudezijds Achterburgwal 28

    1012 DN AMSTERDAM

    See you there!

PS - still very keen to have more scooters coming so please bring a scooter if you can. Scooters can be bought into the hall until 10.30 am (please no later than 11am latest).

    See you guys soon

    John

Schniedel - shame you cant make it!

  9. hey you

Nice to see you & even nicer that you're bringing scooters! Hotels really depend on your budget.

    Cheap places

*Cheapest and right in between the party & the custom show in walking distance is the stayok.com - Stay Ok zeeburg They still have rooms but be quick as they sell out quickly.

*other bargain place is Camping Zeeburg which is 500 meters from the show (and the tram) and a general top tip for free parking. They have very affordable but basic cabins for rent if you dont fancy staying in a tent. Again be quick as the cabins go quickly.

*Some more low budget hostel type places

    3 star & more

For those wanting more luxury I would recommend checking out hotels.de - it's very good but only for 3 star hotels and better (also works in english). The vicinity search function is very good as it will show you places to stay near the do & show. Use "muiderpoort" for the railway station.

For 2 star type places i think hotel.nl is quite good. Some people ask for secured parking - not really an issue for classic scooters really - they never get stolen like the automatics. Will have a think about this.

For a complete overview of all different types of accomodation you can also check here

    hope that helps!
