Hi there! sorry for writing in EN, I'm from Italy but I am currently reading this tread with much interest since you are among the few people experiencing with vespas and smartcarbs like me. I have contributed to the database sheet and as you can see I can confirm that the e-q rods (26 in my case with 108 clicks, for a MALOSSI 221) is waaaay too lean, I couldn't avoid to have white smoke out from the exhaust even at the leanest possible configuration. I have asked to the manufacturer and to the vendor many times their opinion but I'm not convinced. they suggest to go with an e-q28 but... like many of you have experienced, at idle they are all performing the same and if you cannot go lower with the clicks, what is the point of having a leaner rod of the same series??? so I've ordered now a e-k28, hoping to have a leaner starting point for my lower end RPM range.
