10. Springrace powered by Onkel Mike´s: Another great Spring Race ! Like last year, I had the chance to race in Onkel Mike's Garage team. Scooter benefited from an engine upgrade from 2018; M1L60 GTR with PWK35 and new exhaust. Great torque from low rev and reasonable power (23hp) ! Even though we could not use/engage the 4th gear, it was able to pull and to rev enough for most of the track. We were very satisfied with our pace and could manage a best lap of 1:02.1 ! Starting at 7AM from last position (40th, starting grid was randomized) we suffered a first major issue at about 8AM when our third driver suffered an accident, unfortunately braking a bone in his ankle ! Scooter was quickly fixed as it was only cosmetics. From there on, with only two drivers as Albert and myself, it was a very enjoyable, but also long, race :) We suffered small incidents with carburetor falling off after 30 mins, fork/direction too tight, loosing screws of flywheels fans (3 times !) and brake caliper overheating. Some rain showers and two major race neutralization added an additional level of "fun" ! Finally, Albert took the checkered flag to finish 18th overall 40 and 14th over 27 in our category (SF proto). With a bit more luck we could have made it to the top-10 we believe, but in endurance nothing can be left out ! Great driving from all (most ...) pilots but discipline under yellow flags was fine only for some pilots .... Last but not least, such a pleasure to know more than three quarter of the paddock ! Atmosphere is friendly, every stands talk to each other, share spare parts and eventually beers ! Thanks to Mike (from Onkel Mikes Garage GmbH ) and Fritz Pichlmann have offered to race in their team ! Thanks again and congratulation to Mario Horni for another top-notch organization !
